Mini rex rabbits have a very unique plush coat of fur that doesn't need very much grooming. It sheds in clumps only once a
year, usually sometime from July to September. (Baby mini rex shed 3 times before they are fully grown). Mini rex do not shed
their fur so that they can be cooler in the summer like cats and dogs do. They are simply growing a new coat. Outdoor
rabbits tend to have a more noticable shed than indoor rabbits. The fur can be brushed or gently pulled out when it gets loose.
It is a good idea to trim your rabbit's toenails once every 1-2 months. This prevents them from overgrowing and causing health
problems. Nails that are too long can be painful for the rabbit as well as the person handling it.
